Online School Class Sizes

Class size is one of the most overlooked factors when choosing an online school, yet it can make a significant difference to your child's learning experience. Some providers offer large, lecture-style classes with limited interaction, while others focus on small groups where students receive more personalised attention and support. Neither approach is automatically better, it depends on your child's confidence, learning style, and the level of engagement they need. In this section we compare online schools based on their class sizes, helping you understand how much individual attention your child is likely to receive and which type of environment will suit them best.

What to look for with different class sizes in an online school?

When comparing class sizes, the key focus is on how they translate into real support and engagement for your child. Smaller classes often mean more individual attention, quicker feedback, and greater confidence to participate, while larger groups can work well for independent learners who don't need as much direct support. It's also worth looking at how lessons are run and whether students can ask questions easily, how often teachers provide feedback, and if there are opportunities for one-to-one help.  Ultimately, the best choice is a class size that matches your child's personality, keeps them engaged, and ensures they won't get lost in the crowd.
